The team & role:

We are seeking a Load Tester. This is a role where you will join the Streaming department where we build, maintain and expand our ITVX app on connected TVs and web browsers. We have a focus on building highly responsive, mobile-first front-end solutions, utilising the ReactJS and Next.js Frameworks on the Front End and Scala Microservices for the Backend, these are for the Video-On-Demand, Catch-Up and Live Streaming markets in the UK.

Our platforms serve millions of hours of content to 40 million customers, across connected TV, web and mobile. You will work closely with colleagues in cross-functional product teams, to meet our increasing scaling demands and ensure our diverse platforms are competitive in an ever-expanding market.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop and execute automated load and performance tests using Gatling and Scala
• Maintain and improve the existing automation framework
• Integrate load testing into the continuous integration pipeline using Jenkins.
• Monitor test results, analyse performance metrics and provide recommendations for performance improvements
• Collaborate with development teams to troubleshoot and resolve performance issues.
• Work with stakeholders to understand performance requirements and goals for the application.
• Provide technical expertise on performance testing best practices and share within the team.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest performance testing tools and methodologies.
• Create and maintain load testing documentation, including test plans, test cases, and test results reporting

Skills You’ll Need (minimum role criteria):

• Strong experience with load testing and performance testing
• Experience with Scala, Gatling, Jenkins and Automation frameworks
• Experience / Knowledge of AWS services
• Experience with performance testing best practices and methodologies.
• Experience with Agile development methodologies.
• Familiarity with other performance testing tools such as Jmeter, Apache ab, etc.

Other things we’re looking for (key criteria)

• Strong knowledge of Linux/Unix systems administration and troubleshooting.
• Good understanding of databases and SQL.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment
